3D scan treatment for dental applications and orthodontics, medical and surgical applications - 3DReshaper the meshing software

Dental and medical applications

3DReshaper® treats point clouds coming from digitalisation for dental offices (crowns and bridges modelling, dentures, dental plates, jaws and teeth modelling,...), and in the surgical domain (bones and prothesis modelling,...).

Among all these 3DReshaper®'s features, the more useful in those domains are as follows (as shown in the picture opposite) :

  • Registration and point clouds and meshes alignment;
  • 3D mesh global deformation, to correct a measure from a theoritical file;
  • Parallel surface calculation and offsets to take in account even very thin thicknesses;
  • Hole filling along curvatures to rebuild the missing part of a tooth. This process is made in several steps, as show opposite :
    • mesh cutting under constraint of polylines;
    • bridge between free borders and hole filling along curvatures;
    • extration of the suface to treat under contour constraint, in order to botain the wished volume (to fill the tooth's hole).
  • Boolean operation on surface or volumes;
  • Surface comparison and inspection report edition

The best ways to test 3DReshaper®: just download it on our website for a free one-month trial of the complete version of the software.

The differents steps to compute an inlay for tooth with caries: first extract the border of the hole, then the shape of the hole thanks to a boolean operation (1). The second steps consists in filling the hole and preserving curvature continuity and to obtain the external surface of the inlay (2). The inlay volume is obtained for the merge (surface sewing) of hole shape and the external inlay surface(3). The final offset and smoothing provide the space for the ciment and a shape with no sharp angles.
Registration of several point clouds coming from the digitalisation of a femur. After a manual rough registration, 3DReshaper® makes a fine registration using the best fit to get the perfect positioning.
